Copy of Going Crackers - Christmas Craft Meeting

Our November craft meeting was a great way to ease into the coming festivities of Christmas... accompanied by seasonal music and a few festive tipples and nibbles (which of course only enhanced our productivity) the Bombshells enjoyed a relaxed and fun evening of creativity.

Last November's meeting saw us making beautiful Christmas wreaths, all eco friendly and recyclable, this year under the excellent tuition of our very own Bombshell Jo we learned to make some fabulous eco-friendly Christmas crackers and beautiful fabric wreaths which of course can be reused year after year.

All of the crackers are made with recyclable materials so after being pulled on Christmas day, everything but the prize can either be reused or be popped straight into the blue topped bin. We learned to make 2 versions, both pretty easy and very professional looking.

Whilst some of us toiled over crackers, others chose to make fabric wreaths, which as you can see below turned out spectacularly:

The Bombshell's Christmas party was held on the 13th December and it was a fun and fabulous festive evening.

Held for the second year at our president Rowena's house it was a perfect

venue for a Christmassy celebration... bedecked in beautiful decorations and sparkling fairy lights, three gorgeous trees and crackling open fires you just could not fail to feel the Christmas spirit. This year the committee once again funded liquid refreshments, we enjoyed mulled wine, Cava, Buck's Fizz and peach Bellinis as well as plenty of soft drinks. Our delicious buffet was supplied by our lovely members and we were able to partake in a vast array of sweet and savoury nibbles.

Entertainment came in the form of festive jazzy songs performed live by the very talented Lucy White-Simpson; presents from secret Santa and the drawing of our annual fundraising raffle... congratulations to the lucky winners, we had some fabulous prizes donated by our generous members. Thanks to all who attended and made it such a successful and fun evening.

It just remains for me to wish all of our fabulous members (and future members) a very merry Christmas and all good things for 2020 and to remind you that we have some very exiting things to look forward to on next year's WI calendar. So please join us in January to find out just what we have in store for you... x
