The Mysteries of Tarot

Ever wondered about the psychic world? Want to know answers to the big unanswerable questions about your life?

  • Will my partner ever cheat?

  • Will I ever become a grandma?

  • Will I get that job I applied for?

  • Is my best friend honest?

  • Should I sell up and move?

  • What the hell am I going to cook for dinner?

That last one was of course a joke (the answer is always takeaway). But if you have always had a serious hankering to get to grips with some of life's mysteries then perhaps Tarot Cards are the answer.

Our last meeting over Zoom was a fascinating insight into the world of Tarot with a psychic by the name of Inbaal. She has been using Tarot Cards to help people since she was 20... how old is she now? I don't know I'm not the psychic, but I'm guessing that's about 20 years of experience and she really knew her stuff.

Inbaal started off by telling us a little bit about the history of Tarot. It was first documented in 1444 when people would tell fortunes using ordinary playing cards. The Tarot cards we are familiar with today gradually became more popular and have been mass produced since 1909. Each deck consists of 78 cards, which can be split into two groups, the major arcana and minor arcana.

Inbaal then told us how a reading would commence... she would spilt the deck into 3 piles and the client would choose one pile to work with. This pile would be then laid out into a 'spread' usually 'The Celtic Cross' and the rest of the cards are then used in different ways by the psychic to perform the reading. Your questions are answered by means of the pictures and values of the cards you have chosen which communicate energies to the psychic who is then able to draw out the answers to all of your questions. Inbaal explained that some of the people she reads for use her readings as a form of regular counselling.

I was fascinated by what can be devined from a pack of cards and was very tempted to book a reading of my own, which these days doesn't have to be done face to face. Email, telephone and now Zoom readings are a thing! If you are interested in finding out your future check out Inbaal's website: https://www.inbaal.com/

We finished our meeting with our usual catch up and chatter about our next meeting which is "Sex, Secrets, Scandal and Salacious Gossip of the Royal Court" from a speaker who has already entertained us with her talk on "The Ghosts of Hampton Court Palace". This talk was so good that we have booked her to talk again... apparently the subject matter of this talk is not for the faint hearted!

We caught up with Book Club who are reading Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell, talked about the next wine club meeting and upcoming coffee mornings which are now to be held at Stooks again as Covid restrictions relax... We hope June's meeting 'Colour Me Beautiful' will be our first back in St. John's Church Hall face to face since February 2020
